Current Project

1. FLOW ANALYSIS AND DIAGNOSIS IN SERVICE SYSTEMS: THE WATER FLOW IN THE URBAN PARK OF MONTJUÏC

Finish the Research Project from the work done during 2004 about the Water Vector in the Park of Montjuïc. Analysis extension of:

Water flows in other urban systems
Indicators update with 2005 data
Improvement proposals quantification with the aim to determine the drinkable water saves in the service system.

2. CATALAN TRADE FAIRS WASTE PREVENTION AND RECYCLING PLAN

OBJECTIVES

A. General objectives
Elaboration of a guide for the waste management environmental improvement in the trade fairs of Catalonia, regarding general and specific measures for the prevention and recycling which allowed a correct accomplishment of the current law and the sustainable development principles.

B. Specific objectives
Research about Catalan trade fairs basic data: kind, type, periodicity, placement.
Analyse and research about the best current experiences in the trade fairs waste management with the collaboration of the Catalan Fairs Federation (FEFIC).
Field study about the trade fairs wastes Life Cycle.
Elaborate an environmental diagnosis about the wastes produced in the different stages of a fair.
Define how to reduce the wastes quantity and the toxicity, making stress on the ones produced by the ephemeral structures (design, assembling and disassembling) and during the fairs celebration.
Propose selective waste collection for minimizing the amount of wastes sent to a finalist treatment.
Propose a monitoring indicators system for the fairs wastes prevention and recycling.
Edit a Catalan fairs wastes management and prevention guide.
